Weekly Devotionals | Deuteronomy 10

Apr 9, 2026    Wim Codington

In this message, we step into Deuteronomy chapter 10, a chapter that beautifully reveals both the character of God and His clear invitation to His people.

As we reflect on Israel’s story, we’re reminded that God’s relationship with His people has never been based on their perfection, but on His mercy, patience, and love. Even in their stubbornness and rebellion, God remained faithful, revealing His justice, His kindness, and His willingness to forgive in response to humble intercession.

In this chapter, we revisit the giving of the Ten Commandments for a second time, a powerful picture of God’s patience and grace. We also encounter one of the clearest summaries of what God desires from His people: to fear Him, walk in His ways, love Him, and serve Him with all their heart and soul, or their good.

Deuteronomy 10 also gives us a profound glimpse into who God is:

He is the God of gods and Lord of lords, great, mighty, and awesome.

He is perfectly just and completely impartial.

He cares deeply for the vulnerable, the fatherless, the widow, and the foreigner.

And in response, He calls His people, and us, to reflect His heart.

This message invites us to consider:

What has God done in your life?

Have you truly surrendered your heart to Him?

Do you trust His character?

Are you reflecting His love to those around you, especially the overlooked and the outsider?

Join us as we read, reflect, and pray through this chapter together, asking God to not only help us understand His Word, but to live it out.
